Uploading an ID document suitable for an ID check
When uploading an ID document please ensure the image is high quality and all the details are clear.
- The file must be in JPG, PNG or PDF format.
- The minimum pixel size is 1000x1000 and the maximum file size is 20MB.
- The document must have a valid date, not be past the expiry date.
- If the name on your document does not match the name you have given us, due to marriage for example, then a supporting document can be provided to confirm this.
The guidance below will provide a few examples of what is acceptable and what isn't.
Images should be complete and not cropped
Don't crop images of the document, they should show the full document up to the edges. We will need to see the whole ID document page – including the security information.
The document needs to clearly show security details
Can you zoom into the image and make out the watermarks and fine detailing? You should be able to make out the fine details. You should also make sure any images are taken straight on, and no part of the image is blurry or out of focus or has been obscured by reflections or flashes.
